I just finished watching some slideshows depicting stars without make-up and other such "unflattering" moments. I think there is some wicked bad karma coming for whoever puts these stupid things together. Don't get me wrong, I know anyone who chooses a career that thrusts them into the spotlight which they most likely crave is not the most sympathetic of characters. But what ever happened to a little human compassion? Some of those captions were just downright cruel. I saw Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, and Eva Parker without makeup and to me they still looked pretty great. I don't like to put on makeup every time I leave the house. Kate was at a ballgame for goodness sake. I remember putting on a full face before LSU games and before kickoff it had melted off my face. After that I just skipped the whole deal. There was a photo of Fergie JOGGING and her thigh looked funny. She's jogging you morons. How great do any one of us look while we're exercising? And then there was the photo of Madonna's underarm whatever it was. I mean, they're even picking on Madonna's fitness? Yikes!
But the one that really got me was the other day when I heard it reported Angelina FREAKIN' Jolie was TOO OLD for movies!!!!!! Are you kidding me? What 's THAT about? Isn't she 33?
O.K., so stars typically have it pretty easy; fame, money, comparably easy jobs. But today's celebrities do not get even a day's break from the spotlight. Because of easily accessible technology (i.e. camera phones, internet) there is no privacy for them, ever. I wouldn't trade my lame little life of anonymity for celebrity and fame. I might give it up for a small fortune only if it included a personal chef, trainer, and stylist.
