I'm so sad about the oil spill off the coast of my home state, sweet Louisiana. And just like after Katrina, everyone is adequately offended but yet it still seems like not enough is being done. What I wonder is this...If they can drill a relief well that they expect to be finished in a few months why couldn't they drill the stinking thing at the same time as the first one? Then, in case the blowout preventer failed they would already have the relief well in place? I imagine there is a very complicated answer as to why that wouldn't work but I'm sticking with the real answer....because it would narrow the profit margin for the oil companies. My heart once again weeps not only for Louisiana but the environment and our broken government also. Tragic.
